According to reports from Russian media outlets, plans are underway to seize a 15-20 km wide strip of land in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions. This would allegedly be done for the “security” of Russia’s Kursk region following the withdrawal of Ukrainian forces. The spokesperson for Ukraine’s State Border Guard Service, Andriy Demchenko, has confirmed that Russian forces have intensified combat operations in areas adjacent to the Sumy and Kharkiv regions.
