**Romania and Ukraine Team Up to Make Drones**

Romania is planning a big project with Ukraine. They want to make drones together, using Ukrainian designs, in Romania. The idea is to sell these drones to other countries in Europe. This is not the first time Ukraine has worked on such projects. They’ve already partnered with Denmark and Norway.

The Romanian Defense Ministry confirmed this plan during a meeting with journalists. They said that Romanian Minister of Defense Ionut Mosteanu will soon talk to his Ukrainian counterpart about it. The project aims to set up a factory in Brasov, Romania’s central region, where Ukrainian and Romanian teams will work together to build the drones.

Most of these drones will go to the Romanian military, while others will be sold to other European countries. However, there’s a catch. Limited funding from Romania might delay the start of this project until at least 2026, when a new defense budget is expected to be approved.

**Ukraine’s Growing Drone Production**

This move comes as Ukraine continues to face challenges from Russia. To deal with these challenges, Ukraine has increased its drone production significantly. In June, former Defense Minister Rustem Umerov said that Ukrainian companies can now make up to 4 million drones per year.

As of the end of June, the Ukrainian army had received around 1.5 million domestically produced drones. The government is also allocating $60 million each month for procurement. To make it easier to buy these drones, Ukraine recently launched a marketplace called DOT Chain Defense. This allows military units to directly order drones that fit their needs.

**The Rise of Drone Warfare**

Drone warfare has become a key part of the war between Ukraine and Russia. Both sides are relying more on unmanned systems for reconnaissance and strikes. Ukraine says that over 95% of the drones used at the front as of April 2025 were made in Ukraine itself.

This partnership between Romania and Ukraine is an important step towards building up their military capabilities. It also shows how they’re working together to counter common threats, such as Russian aggression.
