**Opposition Politician Slams “Georgian Dream” for Turning CEC into Armed Structure**
Roman Gotsiridze, an opposition politician in Georgia, has criticized the ruling party “Georgian Dream” for turning the Central Election Commission (CEC) into an armed structure. He made these comments on a TV program called “PalitraNews”.
According to Gotsiridze, the decision by “Georgian Dream” MPs to give the CEC chairman and members the right to carry service weapons is a clear indication that the party’s leader, Bidzina Ivanishvili, has not realized the gravity of the situation unfolding around him.
**Government Refuses to Implement PACE Recommendations**
Gotsiridze also discussed the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly (PACE) monitoring committee’s working document. He called this document a “very serious conclusion” and stated that it shows everyone in the West has seen that the elections in Georgia were falsified.
The politician expressed doubt that the Georgian government would implement the PACE recommendations within two months, saying that it was highly unlikely and that the result would be the same.
**People’s Determination Led to Sanctions**
Gotsiridze emphasized that the Georgian people had won through their determination and protests. He stated that without these protests, there would have been no resolution or processes happening in the EU and US Congress, and Bidzina Ivanishvili would not be sanctioned today.
**Government’s Isolation Grows**
The opposition politician also commented on the suspension of visa-free travel for holders of diplomatic passports. He said that those who had been denied visa-free travel were “unwelcome and untouchable”.
Gotsiridze stated that this was a political decision, and over three thousand people connected to the Georgian government are already unwelcome and untouchable. He warned that this would lead to economic isolation and a catastrophic situation for the country.
