Khan, a British national, was targeted for his work with the ICC, which issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin in March 2023 over Moscow’s deportation of Ukrainian children. Russia also included Khan on its wanted list after the ICC’s move.
**US Sanctions on War Crimes Tribunal**
The sanctions are part of a US effort to target the war crimes tribunal over investigations of US citizens or allies, according to Reuters. This means that Khan and his family will be prohibited from entering the US, and their US assets will be frozen.
Khan regularly visits the US to brief the United Nations Security Council, as part of an agreement between the UN and Washington.

In other news, North Korea is expected to start producing drones this year with Russian technical assistance. This was reported by Japanese public broadcaster NHK on February 8.
