“For the first time in Euronest history, we do not have Georgians at official meetings here. This assembly is a platform not only to assess the situation but to help each other fight the same evil, and the name of that evil is the colonial imperialist Russian Federation,” stated Lithuanian European Parliament member Rasa Juknevičienė at the 12th session of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly in Yerevan, during the meeting of the Committee on Political Affairs, Human Rights, and Democracy.
According to her, she is pleased that positive developments have recently occurred in Armenia, including the historic fact of signing a peace agreement.
“But on the other hand, we have Georgia. It is very painful for me to read in our reports what is happening on the ground. It is very painful for us to read such assessments about a country that just a few years ago was a leading nation among the Eastern Partnership countries in terms of reforms and everything we saw. Of course, I don’t think this will be forever, and the points in our future reports will not change,” the European Parliament member noted.
