**Police Officer’s Injury Was Caused by Colleagues, Not Protesters**

A police officer who was injured during a student protest in Belgrade has confirmed that his injuries were caused by his own colleagues, not the protesters. The incident happened outside the Serbian state TV (RTS) building on Monday evening.

The officer, Lazar Bacic, was wearing plain clothes and had an eye injury. President Aleksandar Vucic and Internal Affairs Minister Ivica Dacic said he was hurt by students, but this was not true.

**Video Shows Colleagues’ Role in the Incident**

A transcript of a phone conversation between Bacic and a former police colleague was published by Radar. In it, Bacic confirms that his injuries were caused by members of his own unit.

Video footage on social media shows Bacic being hit in the face with an official baton by one of his subordinates from the Belgrade Gendarmerie unit. This contradicts what President Vucic said about the students being responsible for Bacic’s injury.
