Police Behavior Under Scrutiny

The Public Defender’s Office is concerned about videos showing police using excessive force against citizens, journalists, and politicians. These incidents are causing worry among the public.

A TV cameraman from Pirveli was reportedly injured by the police. There are also videos of police officers verbally abusing women, including female politicians, on live TV.

The Public Defender strongly condemns these actions and says they will take legal action against those responsible. The Office is calling for an investigation into all of these incidents.

The Special Investigation Service should immediately look into what happened and punish anyone who broke the law. The General Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs should also investigate cases where police officers used abusive language.

Representatives from the Public Defender’s Office will visit people who were detained, including politicians. More information about this will be shared later.

If you have any concerns about human rights being broken, you can call the Public Defender’s hotline at 1481, 24 hours a day.
