The Georgian society has become very accustomed to the words denoting radicalism, arson, Molotov cocktails, overthrow, I call on everyone to be careful with their rhetoric. The state and the law will be appropriately strict towards any such manifestations of radicalism, – the Prime Minister told journalists in Kutaisi.
According to him, there is only one legitimate way to change the government – these are elections and everything else is illegitimate, which is directly mentioned in the Criminal Code.
“As for the general terms, there is only one legitimate way to change the government, and that is elections. Everything else is illegitimate, and these illegitimate measures are directly mentioned in the Criminal Code. We often hear such terms and we cannot continue such a practice. Here, as well as towards corruption, organized and drug crimes, we will have different, strict approaches towards politically motivated crimes, and everyone must get used to this and everyone must look at it. Therefore, I call on everyone to be more careful with their rhetoric. It is impossible for Georgian society to hear talk about overthrow, fire and disaster for years, and from whom – when you hear talk about this from the National Movement for 13 years, of course, this is not acceptable for the state, therefore the state and legislation will be appropriately strict towards any such manifestations of radicalism,” the Prime Minister said.
