Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze met with the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, according to information released by the Government Administration.
According to their statement, the meeting focused on the positive dynamics in the development of political and economic cooperation between Georgia and the United Arab Emirates. The head of government emphasized the special significance of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s visit, noting that it will further strengthen the partnership between the two countries.
“Today is a day of special significance for us. We are hosting a delegation from the United Arab Emirates led by the President for the first time, which is a great honor for us, and I would like to once again express my deepest gratitude for your visit to Georgia. Your visit is an expression of your interest in our country, which we greatly appreciate. We have very good dynamics in our relations, with very close political and economic cooperation. We are maximally interested in further deepening cooperation and partnership between our two countries in all directions. We are pleased that companies from your country are very actively represented in our country. There are four major companies operating successfully in Georgia, with all conditions created for their economic activities. We are also pleased that, under your leadership, we signed a very important investment agreement that envisages economic activities in Georgia by Eagle Hills and EMAAR. Thank you for your support. This is a very important initiative for us. We also greatly value the cooperation related to the development of a dry port in Tbilisi. We hope that such initiatives will increase in the future, and both political and economic cooperation between our countries will deepen further. Your visit lays a solid foundation for our further productive cooperation in all directions. Once again, I would like to express my deepest gratitude for your visit to Georgia. This day is of special significance for our country and for each of us,” stated Irakli Kobakhidze.
The President of the United Arab Emirates highlighted the close cooperation between Georgia and the UAE in various fields. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan emphasized the growing dynamics of trade relations and the shared vision of both countries regarding the importance of peace and stability.
“Dear friend, Mr. Prime Minister, I am very happy with my visit to Georgia. Meeting you again after our meeting in Abu Dhabi is a confirmation of the continuation of our cooperation. I take this opportunity to congratulate you on your birthday. I wish you success, a happy life, and good health. There is a close connection between Georgia and the United Arab Emirates. In the future, this will be proven by the deepening of our cooperation and the implementation of many more projects, particularly in trade, business, economy, industry, and energy sectors, which are priorities for both countries. I would like to note the growth in trade relations between our countries, which amounts to millions of dollars. This cooperation extends to significant volumes, and there is no doubt that economic cooperation between our two countries will continue, especially in the transport sector. The United Arab Emirates will facilitate the development of projects outlined in agreements implemented by various investment companies. This strengthens the relationship between Georgia and the UAE. Our two countries share a common vision for stability, peace, and people-to-people relations. Both countries also participate in deepening cooperation in the cultural sphere and sharing rich heritage, which forms the foundation for our countries’ development. I want to assure you that the United Arab Emirates will strengthen partnerships among the countries of the Caucasus region in general and promote stability, peace, and common interests. Peace is the fundamental pillar for economic development and strengthening. The expanded-format meeting, held at the Government Administration, was attended by members of the cabinets of both countries.
Following the meeting, Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvrivishvili, and the founder and chairman of Eagle Hills Group, Mohamed Alabbar, exchanged agreements envisaging the implementation of two large-scale investment projects in Georgia worth 6 billion USD.
The official ceremony for the exchange of documents was attended by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
