This is friendly advice from our side: do not do something that will lead to spending many years behind bars, stated Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.
He explained that, in addition to public statements made by politicians, they have a wealth of operational information, which is why they are warning the public not to engage in violent actions.
“We must emphasize the public calls. According to these public calls, the stated purpose of tomorrow’s rally is to confront the constitutional order and attempt to overthrow or forcibly change it. The leaders of the respective parties and others involved in organizing this rally are openly talking about this. These statements are inherently unconstitutional. In addition, we, of course, have a lot of operational information. I can tell you one thing in general: if they talk about surprises, any small surprise will be met with our big surprise, and this surprise will meet them, of course, within the framework of the law, but the law will act very strictly against them,” stated Kobakhidze.
He also responded to a question regarding the alleged “leaked lists from Georgian Dream” and what such incidents serve. According to Kobakhidze, “cheap measures, like publishing old lists, will not achieve any success.”
“All of this shows the weakness prevailing in the radical opposition spectrum. They announced some plan and stated their goal. Their declared goal is to overthrow or forcibly change the constitutional order, but as you can see, they themselves have serious doubts about the feasibility of achieving this goal. That’s why they resort to these cheap measures – publishing old lists, making cheap threats, and so on. Of course, this will not achieve any success. Over the past 13 years, they have made numerous attempts to orchestrate such processes. In the last four years alone, we have seen four attempts to stage a revolution, all of which failed. Of course, after 13 years, their revolutionary attempt will inevitably fail much more easily than in previous cases. We want to warn everyone not to end up behind bars for many years in vain. The place for unscrupulous violent individuals is in prison, as everyone saw after last year’s events. Therefore, we advise everyone to take a cautious stance and not get involved in processes that involve violence and, accordingly, carry criminal consequences,” stated Kobakhidze.
