We had the opportunity to speak directly with more than 30 leaders. We talked with all of these leaders about our national interests, the need and prospects for reviewing relations between Georgia and the European Union, – Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told journalists in Copenhagen.
As the Prime Minister noted, a number of high-ranking leaders have expressed their readiness to review relations and open a discussion on all issues related to Georgia’s aspirations for the European Union.
“We have completed the visit. It is an interesting format, we had bilateral meetings. We had a meeting directly with the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, the Secretary General of the OSCE. I also had a speech in the format of a panel discussion, where we talked about economic and connectivity issues. What was most interesting was that we had the opportunity to talk directly with more than 30 leaders. We talked with all these leaders about our national interests, the need to review relations between Georgia and the European Union and the prospects. It is interesting that a number of high-ranking leaders expressed their readiness to review our relations and open a discussion on all topics related to Georgia’s aspirations for the European Union, which is a very good impetus. Let’s wait for the rest. We expressed our full readiness to hold such discussions, public, open, transparent discussions. This is absolutely necessary for the improvement of relations between Georgia and the European Union.
Resetting relations was one of the main issues that we raised, although there were initiatives on their part in this regard. The rest is closed communication and I cannot talk about the details. It is good that we have seen positive impulses in all this. As for the rest, we will wait for the development of events. We have our foreign policy priority, which is Georgia’s integration into the European Union. Of course, this cannot happen without a healthy discussion. We confirm our readiness to open, once again, a healthy discussion with the European Union structures on all issues,” Irakli Kobakhidze said.
