**Clashes in Novi Sad City Hall**

On Friday, opposition city assembly councilors blocked the entrance to Novi Sad City Hall. They were trying to support student protests and demands. Police in riot gear were sent to throw them out.

A physical fight broke out between the police and the councilors. The police used force to push them out of the building. Several minutes later, the opposition was forced out.

Two councilors, Miran Pogacar and Mladen Cvijetic, were involved in the clash. Councilor Pogacar was arrested. Councilor Cvijetic was injured but refused help from paramedics.

A special police unit, the Gendarmerie, was deployed outside City Hall after the opposition was thrown out.

**Students Pay Tribute**

Earlier on Friday, students and their supporters held a silent protest at university centers across Serbia. They stood in silence for 15 minutes to remember the 15 people who died in a tragic accident at Novi Sad Railway Station last year.

The students have made it clear that they are not affiliated with any political party.
