Germany’s Parliament Must Approve EU Membership Talks
The German government needs permission from their parliament to start talks about joining the European Union. This makes it impossible for Georgia to join the EU right now.
Germany’s ambassador, Peter Fischer, said this on his social media account X. He was quoting Anton Hofreiter, a German politician who visited Georgia recently.
