**Ukrainian Drones Hit Russian Oil Depot**

Ukrainian forces attacked oil depots in Russia’s Tula and Kaluga oblasts overnight on January 18. The attack was reported by Ukraine’s General Staff and the Kyiv Independent’s source in Ukraine’s military intelligence (HUR).

The drones, operated by HUR, hit the oil depot in Tula Oblast at least 10 times. A fuel storage tank caught fire at an enterprise in the region, but no casualties were reported.

**Another Depot Hit**

Ukrainian soldiers also targeted an oil depot in Lyudinovo, Kaluga Oblast, overnight. The oil depot is owned by Kaluganefteprodukt, a subsidiary of Russia’s state-controlled oil company Rosneft.

The military claimed that the oil depot supplies units directly involved in the war against Ukraine. However, this claim could not be verified by the Kyiv Independent.

**Ukraine Aims to Damage Russian Oil Industry**

This attack comes amid an uptick in Ukraine’s drone attacks on Russia. Kyiv aims to damage Russia’s oil industry, which is crucial for sustaining Moscow’s war effort and military hardware.

Tula Oblast has regularly come under attack by Ukrainian drones. The region lies south of Moscow.

**No Casualties Reported**

Videos posted on social media show a large fire at an oil depot in the town of Uzlovaya in Tula Oblast. No casualties were reported from this attack.
