**Opposition Group Asks to Cancel EXPO 2027 License**
A group called Ecological Uprising has asked the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) to take away Belgrade’s license for the EXPO 2027. They claim that the current situation in Serbia and how the government is preparing for the event are against the law.
The opposition group says a new scandal is brewing, and that corruption is causing problems. They also say that the Serbian government is not doing enough to ensure that people can express their opinions freely.
Some people have been talking about canceling Belgrade’s license because of the recent deaths at Novi Sad Railway Station. There were 15 people who died in this tragedy. A lawyer and official from a group called League of Social Democrats of Vojvodina said that there are several reasons why the license should be canceled, including civil unrest, corruption, and safety concerns.
However, the BIE has replied to these claims, saying that it does not give out licenses, but instead evaluates applications and registers them with its member countries. They also say that they receive regular reports on the progress of EXPO events.
