**Parliament to Discuss New Rules for TV and Radio Stations**
On March 3, the Parliament will discuss changes to laws about television and radio broadcasting. These changes were proposed by two parties: “Georgian Dream” and “People’s Power”.
**New Rule: No Money from Foreign Forces**
One of the new rules says that TV and radio stations cannot get money or help from foreign organizations. They also cannot buy services from them, even indirectly. This means that they can’t use funding or resources to prepare and show programs.
**New Rule: Fair Reporting**
The other bill proposes that TV and radio stations must be fair in their reporting. If they’re not, the Communications Regulatory Commission can warn them and fine them. The commission will look at cases where:
* Reporters don’t cover news fairly
* They don’t give both sides of an issue
* They record interviews or phone calls without warning
* They don’t ask questions based on fairness
* They don’t get consent from people being filmed in certain places
* They invite only one guest to discuss a topic and use them to attack someone else
