When village woven fences are stronger than the fence of the strategically important President’s palace, this raises a lot of questions, stated Nugzar Tsiklauri, one of the leaders of the “Coalition for Change,” during his appearance on “PalitraNews” program “Day’s Newsroom,” in connection with the events surrounding October 4.
According to his assessment, in the events of October 4, “Georgian Dream” played the role of a provocateur, as it lured people into a trap.
“Yes, the name of Grigol Liluashvili, the former head of the SSS, has surfaced. Personal matters will probably become known later, and if the organizers themselves speak about it, only then will we get a convincing answer. We only heard that there were such things, and apparently, such things really happened. ‘Georgian Dream,’ as the provocateur of these political events, I see its role in this clearly. I think the main thing is that the government has a very understandable, treacherous plan, which aims to destroy both opposition flanks—the so-called participants in the elections and the so-called boycotters.
The plan is simple – everyone must be finished, absolutely everyone.
It is essential to learn the full truth about what happened on October 4 – what was that peaceful change plan that went wrong.
Who are those traitorous influential people who played a decisive role in bringing the process to this state?
What was supposed to happen and what didn’t?
What were those ‘surprises’ that were supposed to appear but didn’t? There was talk about this on TV for a long time, and more explanation is needed.
Yesterday, Mr. Paata Burchuladze said that even the clash that happened at Atoneli shouldn’t have occurred. The family members of the detained say the same.
The situation is very grave, and the only way out is dry truth.
I understand that most of these self-sacrificing people are in prison, but we need to know what expectations existed and who/what caused them not to be met.
Until then, it is essential that we be many on Rustaveli today!” writes Levan Sanikidze on social media.
Regarding the summoning of former Defense Minister Bacho Akhalaia to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, where he was questioned for 8 hours, Tsiklauri rules out any connection to the events.
“We remember that a pseudo-recording created by artificial intelligence was published, the falsity of which was established within a few hours. I think this is a lie, and there was no conversation between Paata Burchuladze and Akhalaia at all. It is clear to everyone that this is a lie. Ani [Bacho Akhalaia’s wife] lost her brother a few months ago, and she returned to Georgia at that time, during these events. This happened in early spring. I think she is not participating in these political events. She practically doesn’t leave the house. The government has created some ‘boogeymen’ and now wants to scare society with them. She is not participating in this. She has not participated in any organization,” stated Nugzar Tsiklauri.
Additionally, during his appearance on the program, he discussed the future plans of politicians and noted that protests must continue. According to him, a united opposition march is already planned for October 26.
“I believe that now the political class must prepare to timely overcome the magnetism toward these events. We must start turning a new page. In this regard, I think that protests must continue. On the 4th, after this happened and it was a heavy blow for every patriot, the 5th came, and we saw another massive turnout on Rustaveli. On Rustaveli, usually 1,000 or 2,000 people gather, and that day there were several times more people. This indicates that despite all kinds of provocations, this momentum of national solidarity and loyalty to Georgia’s European path exists. We saw the EU’s position. No one shared Ivanishvili’s view that there was a violent revolution in Georgia. This is a position of great importance from European partners.
Did we suffer damage in this situation? Yes, we did! This happened both through participation in those elections and through naive, uncalculated various steps that damaged the peaceful movement, but this does not mean that the peaceful movement has taken such a blow that it has no resource for recovery. Yes, it has a resource for recovery!” stated Nugzar Tsiklauri.
