**Georgian Prime Minister Honors Soccer Star and Two-Time Champions League Winner**
In a recent government session, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced that soccer player Khvicha Kvaratskhelia will be nominated for the prestigious St. George’s Victory Order. This honor comes on the heels of Kvaratskhelia’s success with the national team, which earned him the Order of Honor last year.
**A Well-Deserved Award**
The Prime Minister noted that Kvaratskhelia’s achievement in winning the Champions League is a significant milestone, and he believes it’s time to recognize his hard work and dedication with the highest state honor. “Khvicha Kvaratskhelia was awarded the Order of Honor last year for his success with the national team,” Kobakhidze said. “Now, for winning the Champions League, we want to nominate him for the St. George’s Victory Order.”
**Honoring Two-Time and Three-Time Champions**
The Prime Minister also announced that two other athletes will be nominated for the St. George’s Victory Order: Kakha Kaladze and Zaza Pachulia. Kaladze, a former soccer player, has won the Champions League twice, while Pachulia, a professional basketball player, has won the highest-level club tournament three times. Both athletes have received top honors in their respective sports, but never for their achievements in top club tournaments.
**A Belated Recognition**
The Prime Minister acknowledged that it may be considered late to recognize Kaladze and Pachulia’s achievements, but he believes it’s essential to acknowledge their hard work and dedication to their sports. “We have decided to nominate Kakha Kaladze and Zaza Pachulia for the St. George’s Victory Order,” Kobakhidze stated.
