Nino Tsilosani: The women were the ones swearing at our supporters the loudest and behaving the most disgracefully; they were not victims but perpetrators – both the women and the men are fascists

You single out women in violent groups who most aggressively insulted our supporters and behaved in the most disgraceful manner. By doing so, you want to portray all of this as female violence – when in reality, you are putting those women who are truly victims of violence in families or various partner relationships at the greatest risk, said Nino Tsilosani, the Vice-Speaker of the Parliament, commenting on the events that unfolded near the election headquarters of the “Georgian Dream.”
According to her, “It is unfortunate that this fascist group is also staffed with women.”
“Either get to the bottom of the matter or learn what standards you should uphold when people involved in violent, fascist activism, including women, are not presented as victims. They were not victims; they were the aggressors. I have seen everything from beginning to end… There were fascists, both women and men – it is unfortunate that in our reality, this fascist group is also staffed with women,” Nino Tsilosani stated.
When asked whether the man who struck a woman during the protest on Melikishvili Street should be punished, Tsilosani responded that she is not a law enforcement agency and cannot provide a legal assessment.
“I will give a political assessment and say that this fascist group, which has been moving around the capital for so long, harasses everyone – regardless of gender or age – restricts citizens’ movement, and does so deliberately to provoke a response. This fascist group attacked our group, insulted and humiliated them, and held a small aggressive rally. Against this backdrop, when people expressed their emotions through actions, this political assessment is understandable to me. This fascist group, as it appears, is staffed with women who, unfortunately, are well-trained in how to provoke people,” Nino Tsilosani stated.
As a reminder, there was noise and confrontation on Melikishvili Avenue near Kakhа Kaladze’s election headquarters. According to the protest participants, they were physically assaulted by representatives of the youth wing of the “Georgian Dream.” During the physical confrontation, more than 10 protest participants were injured, including media representatives.
