**Fines Against Protesters Unfair and High**
People taking part in protests are being unfairly fined with high amounts of money. This is according to Nino Lomjaria, founder of the civic platform “Georgian European Orbit”. She says that the fines are meant to scare people from protesting and make it hard for them to afford.
**Police Don’t Have Enough Evidence**
Lomjaria claims that the police don’t have enough evidence to prove that protesters were doing something wrong. They say that photos and videos taken by the police do not show any wrongdoing by protesters. She says that this is a coordinated effort by law enforcement, courts, and Parliament to stop people from speaking out.
**High Fines Not Justified**
The fines being given are very high. In some cases, they are 10 or 20 times higher than usual. This is not fair and goes against international human rights standards. These standards say that severe fines can discourage people from protesting in the future.
