**Strained Relations with Europe**
Chitadze said that Trump’s statements are straining relations between the US and Europe. The European Union is an important ally of the United States. Each year, the US exports around $2 billion worth of goods to the EU. In the past, the US and Europe worked together during the Cold War. They spent nearly $5 trillion on this effort.
**Risk of Being Left Without Allies**
Now, the US risks being left without allies. Russia cannot be an ally of the US. Trump has also threatened to impose tariffs on China. He has already put a 10% tariff on Chinese goods. China responded with a 15% tariff.
**Ukraine and NATO**
Chitadze was asked about Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s role in preventing war in Ukraine. She said it was impossible for Zelenskyy to prevent the war, as Russia had already prepared its military.
**Russia’s Actions**
In April 2021, Russia stationed around 200,000 troops near Ukraine. They were there under the pretext of military exercises. However, this was just a test by Putin to see how far he could go.
