U.S. President Donald Trump has finished a 1.5 hour phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to NBC.
This conversation comes after U.S.-led negotiations in Saudi Arabia where Washington proposed a 30-day ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine.
Putin and Trump have not made any official statements yet.
The call started at 10am EDT and lasted for over an hour and a half.
**Russia Claims Victory**
Russia’s negotiator Kirill Dmitriev said that the world is now “a much safer place” thanks to the call. However, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wants more information about the details of the agreement before commenting.
The Russian Defense Ministry claims that Ukraine’s forces tried to enter Russia’s Belgorod Oblast but were pushed back by the Russian military.
