**Serbia’s EU Accession Process in Jeopardy**

However, the National Convention does say that they will keep cooperating at a lower level, such as working groups and individual chapters, with civil servants and professional experts. They have always successfully worked together on Serbia’s EU accession process, even when there was no clear political will to do so.

The letter criticizes the Government of Serbia and the European Union for their responses to a mass social movement in the country. The Convention claims that these protests are not attempts at violence or revolutions, but rather an authentic expression of young people’s demands for better institutions and responsible governance.
**Commission Urged to Act**
The National Convention urges the European Commission to approach Serbia with consideration for its current social and political situation. They ask the Commission to publicly acknowledge the crisis in Serbia and demand that the country’s authorities take timely and lawful actions to address it.
