Court Hearing in Batumi: Lawyers Want High-Ranking Police Officials Questioned
Lawyers for Mzia Amaghlobeli want two high-ranking police officials, Irakli Dgebuadze and Grigol Beselia, to be questioned as witnesses in court. They made this request during a hearing at the Batumi City Court.
The lawyers claim that these officials were directly involved in Mzia Amaghlobeli’s arrest. They believe that questioning them is necessary to understand the events surrounding the arrest.
However, representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs disagree with this request. They argue that Irakli Dgebuadze and Grigol Beselia’s testimony is not relevant to the case at hand.
A verbal confrontation broke out between the parties during the hearing. The lawyers for Mzia Amaghlobeli stood firm in their request, while the Ministry of Internal Affairs representatives argued against it.
Judge Salikh Shainidze ultimately left the decision open, saying that he wants to keep all options available during the administrative violation hearing.
The case is ongoing, and a final decision has yet to be made.
