As part of efforts to combat illegal migration, employees of the Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs conducted a special immigration control operation. This information was disseminated by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to the agency, based on obtained information, the department’s employees inspected specific locations as part of the operation, aimed at identifying foreign nationals residing in Georgia without a legal basis.
“As a result of the comprehensive operation, 13 foreign nationals were detained. Among them are citizens of Jordan, Egypt, Pakistan, India, and Turkey. It was established that they were residing in the country in violation of the requirements set by the Georgian Law ‘On the Legal Status of Foreigners and Stateless Persons.’
Currently, these individuals are placed in the Migration Department’s temporary detention center. Relevant procedures are underway to facilitate their deportation from the country.
