 The Minister of Internal Affairs, Gela Geladze, and the Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Georgia, Giorgi Kalandarishvili, signed a memorandum of cooperation to ensure the peaceful and secure conduct of the municipal elections on October 4, 2025.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the memorandum provides for the definition of additional forms and the relevant legal framework for cooperation between the parties during the election period, as well as the organization of joint trainings and workshops with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Central Election Commission.
“Within the framework of cooperation, the parties will exchange all necessary information in accordance with the legislation of Georgia and will consult each other within their competence. In order to ensure the security of the election process and coordinate work, a memorandum of cooperation between the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Central Election Commission has been signed before each election in recent years,” reads the information.
