The chairman of the Strong Georgia-Lelo coalition, Mamuka Khazaradze, the joint candidate for the Tbilisi mayoralty of the two opposition forces, Irakli Kupradze, and the head of the election headquarters, Tazo Datunashvili, met with the Mayor of Brussels, Philippe Close, the coalition’s press service reports.
According to them, at the bilateral meeting, the details of the future Tbilisi-Brussels partnership were discussed within the framework of both cultural and economic cooperation, which involves the planning and implementation of joint infrastructure and educational projects.
According to Lelo, the guests informed the Brussels mayor about the difficult political situation in Georgia ahead of the elections.
Philippe Close expressed full support for the joint candidate for the Tbilisi mayoralty in the local self-government elections.
“Today we met with Tbilisi mayoral candidate Irakli Kupradze. I would like to express my full support to him, because we are bound by common European values, which are very important to me as the mayor of the European capital,” said Brussels Mayor Philippe Close during the meeting.
