**Former Host of Pro-Russian Channels Arrested**

Max Nazarov, a former host on shuttered pro-Russian news channels, has been taken into custody in Ukraine. This comes after the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) announced charges against him for spreading pro-Kremlin propaganda.

Nazarov was previously a news presenter at Nash and NewsOne television channels. Both channels were considered to be among the leading pro-Russian news outlets in Ukraine. However, they were shut down due to their anti-Ukrainian activities.

The SBU searched Nazarov’s home on January 18 and found evidence that suggests he has been involved in spreading pro-Russian propaganda. He is accused of justifying Russian aggression and war crimes through his YouTube channel show.

Nazarov claimed on his Telegram channel that he bears no responsibility for the words of the guests he interviewed. However, the SBU said that “large-scale evidence” and expert conclusions point to his involvement in anti-Ukrainian activities.

The former host has been sent to custody for 60 days pending trial, with an alternative option of bail worth Hr 12 million (approximately $285,000).
