**Georgian Opposition Leader Calls for Peaceful Overthrow of Government in Upcoming Elections**
In an interview with PalitraNews, Levan Khabeishvili, the chairman of the political council of the United National Movement, urged Georgians to take part in the peaceful overthrow of the government on October 4. According to him, the upcoming elections are a deadline for the “Russian special operation” being conducted by the current government.
Khabeishvili emphasized that he does not want people to wait and see what happens, but rather be proactive and fight against the regime. He criticized two parties that have chosen to participate in this supposed Russian operation, saying that they should join the struggle instead of supporting it. The opposition leader warned that if people do not take part in the elections and claim that the government is illegitimate, they must prepare for a peaceful overthrow.
Khabeishvili’s comments have been met with resistance from the Georgian Dream party, which has accused him of promoting violence. However, the chairman of the political council insists that his call to action is peaceful and not violent.
**A Warning on Visa Liberalization**
The opposition leader also highlighted the importance of visa liberalization for Georgians living in European countries. He warned that if the government continues to suppress dissent and falsify elections, it may lead to a backlash from European authorities, resulting in difficulties for Georgian citizens to enter or stay in European countries.
Khabeishvili claimed that on September 1-4, Georgian citizens may face problems at the borders of Germany and France, which could spark a reaction from the Georgian people. He urged people to take action and fight against the regime, saying that it is better to lose and have done everything than to wait and see what happens.
**A Confrontation Within the Ruling Party?**
Khabeishvili also spoke about an alleged confrontation within the Georgian Dream team, specifically between Mamuka Mdinaradze and Kakha Kaladze. According to him, the executive secretary of the Georgian Dream party has absolute power and can influence key government positions.
The opposition leader called for unity among the opposition parties and warned that if they do not work together, they may lose their chance to change the government. He emphasized that the only solution now is the power of people, saying that “the more we are, the less effort will be required to change the government.”
