Representatives of “Georgian Dream” attending the opening event of the election headquarters of Tbilisi Mayor and mayoral candidate Kakha Kaladze were forced to leave the event amid noise and chants.
Citizens are gathered on the outer perimeter of the headquarters. The protesters are chanting: “Slaves, slaves!” and “Russians, Russians!”
After the event concluded, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze, Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili, deputies, and ministers had to exit amid the noise and chants.
A large number of police officers are mobilized at the scene, stationed both near Chavchavadze Avenue and the “Philharmonia.”
Protesters who were initially positioned on the Chavchavadze Avenue side have now gathered directly in front of Kakha Kaladze’s headquarters.
It is noteworthy that some “Georgian Dream” representatives and supporters have not yet left the inner perimeter of the headquarters.
The protesters have completely blocked Melikishvili Avenue.
