“I am a self-respecting woman and a parent, a mother; I won’t say anything more at this stage,” said Khatia Vibliani, a female arm wrestler accused of violence against a minor, before her court hearing began.
She does not discuss the details of the incident but claims she was unaware that the person she is accused of assaulting was a minor.
“Of course, I didn’t know. When the bullying against me started, I found out later… I’m not crazy… I am a self-respecting woman and a parent, a mother; I won’t say anything more at this stage. After the investigation begins, I will definitely talk about it,” Vibliani stated.
When asked whether violence would be justified if the person had been an adult, she responded negatively.
“I don’t support violence; everyone just needs to know the rules of conduct. I acknowledge [the violence], but any self-respecting parent in my position would have done something when they are being attacked,” Vibliani stated.
Regarding whether she expects to be detained, she said she “hopes everything will proceed fairly.”
A decision on the preventive measure for Khatia Vibliani is expected to be discussed in a few minutes.
The defense is requesting a 5,000 GEL bail for Vibliani. The prosecution’s motion is currently unknown.
For reference, the Prosecutor’s Office charged Khatia Vibliani with violence against a minor with prior notice.
According to the investigation, on September 11 of this year, in Tbilisi, at a store, the accused Vibliani physically assaulted a minor and then continued the physical violence outside the store.
