Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze has responded to criticism about the dismissal of some City Hall employees. He said it was not “political dismissal”, but rather a normal part of reorganization.
Kaladze explained that when an employee’s contract is up for renewal, the manager decides whether to keep them or let them go. If they’re not doing their job properly, their contract will not be renewed.
He gave examples of people who have different political views and are still working at City Hall. Kaladze said this shows that politics was not a factor in the dismissals.
