According to Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze, the opposition is currently divided into two, “one part of which threatens the Georgian people with overthrow, while the other part, in case of victory, threatens to halt the operations of the municipality and all relevant services in Tbilisi.”
Kaladze stated that there is no place for violent groups in Georgia, either in politics or in everyday life.
“Look at what’s happening in the opposition—it’s split in two. One side threatens the Georgian people with overthrow. The other says that in case of victory, it will completely halt the municipality’s operations, and I’m talking about Tbilisi, stopping the work of all relevant services. It’s unthinkable when we’re dealing with radicalism and violent actors. I’ve said it many times and will repeat it again: in today’s Georgia, in today’s reality, and in the future Georgia, there is no place for violent groups, either in politics or in everyday life,” stated Kakha Kaladze.
