The further away these types of bureaucrats are, the better for our country, our people and the future of this country, – this is how the mayor of the capital, Kakha Kaladze, assessed the fact that European Commissioner Marta Kos will not visit Georgia as part of her tour of the South Caucasus.
According to Kakha Kaladze, such decisions are due to the fact that the Georgian government “did not succumb to their blackmail and threats regarding the opening of a second front and the imposition of sanctions on Russia.”
“The country did not submit to their demands, the country did not submit to their blackmail, threats, insults – to get involved in the war, open a second front, join sanctions that would be economically disastrous and would bring disaster to our country. We did not submit because we do not do stupid things – we will not harm our own country, our own people and ourselves. We have a huge responsibility before the Georgian people. Everyone should remember this well and understand that we have an obligation before the Georgian people, and not before some outsiders, as they wish. The Georgian people are the masters of this country. Accordingly, we have an obligation, first of all, to protect the interests of this country and the interests of the Georgian people, and these people continue to insult, slander, threaten, blackmail, for what?! – Because we did not commit harakiri,” Kaladze said.
