Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze stated that the demands related to the potential cancellation of visa liberalization for Georgia are “completely detached from reality.”
As Kaladze told journalists, the European Union dislikes the Georgian government for one reason only: “They are not someone’s representatives in this country and do not carry out their decisions at the snap of a finger.”
“The demands that have been voiced are completely detached from reality and have nothing to do with visa liberalization. The European Commission’s report states on one hand that the country has made progress and is moving forward, being one of the leading countries, while on the other hand, they dislike the Georgian government. This has only one reason: we are not someone’s representatives in this country, we are not agents, and we do not act on their decisions with a snap of a finger. We do not agree because we know that all of this is harmful to our country and its people. We protect our homeland and the country’s interests, and this policy will continue in the future,” Kaladze stated.
