“The obtained confessions indicate that the enemy does not rest! They are making every effort to orchestrate a state coup, bloodshed, revolution, and confrontation among the people,” said Kakha Kaladze, the General Secretary of “Georgian Dream,” Mayor of Tbilisi, and mayoral candidate, in response to a question regarding the “Hexogen” case.
Kaladze added, “Let them dare to do something illegal, and then we’ll see.”
“It’s a very grave matter! I thank every employee of the State Security Service for their preventive measures. As far as I know, the investigation is ongoing. There are many questions, and we should wait. It’s a very serious matter when we are dealing with this type of crime,” Kaladze stated.
Last week, the State Security Service released information about the smuggling of the explosive substance “Hexogen” into Georgia from Ukraine. According to the SSS, two Ukrainian citizens were detained in connection with the case: the driver, who, according to the investigation, was operating the vehicle, and the person he met in Georgia, to whom he handed over the seized substance. Additionally, as stated during a briefing at the SSS, “despite the detainee’s testimony indicating that the explosive substance was intended for Russia to be used in the so-called ‘Pautina2,’ the investigation materials point to a single final destination – a residential building in Tbilisi’s Avlabari district.”
