“This is not the first time we’ve heard such statements. All of this is orchestrated from abroad,” said the mayor of the capital in a conversation with the media, responding to the opposition’s statements about the “peaceful overthrow” of the government.
Kakha Kaladze also spoke about the individual detained at yesterday’s protest action who was carrying a firearm, noting that this is a serious incident and urging everyone to exercise caution.
“Over the past few years, these forces have had the desire to stage a coup or revolution, and they still do. Funds are coming into the country from abroad and are being spent to provoke confrontation and incite hatred in society. However, our relevant agencies are always up to the task and operate at a very high level. Anyone who takes illegal steps will face appropriate consequences, and every such person will be punished.
Regarding the individual with a firearm at the protest, of course, there will be desires and attempts to escalate the situation. However, no one will be given the opportunity to organize confrontation, a coup, or any kind of illegal action in the country. This incident is very serious. They are so embittered and in such a dire state that they are ready to do anything. Therefore, everyone must exercise caution,” Kakha Kaladze stated.
