No one, whether from the U.S., Europe, or Russia, will be given the opportunity to unjustly criticize our country or insult it—Georgia’s government is ready to start relations from a clean slate, said Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze in a statement to the media.
According to Kakha Kaladze, friendship, partnership, and strategic relations “cannot be one-sided; they require a mutual approach.”
“You cannot cite a single example of us sending anti-democratic, anti-European, or anti-American messages. We are forced to defend ourselves, our country, our people, and our state when we hear false messages, slander, and threats. No one, whether from the U.S., Europe, or Russia, will be given the opportunity to unjustly criticize our country or insult it, and with all due respect to congressmen who are bought for 80,000, I’m sorry, but… everything must start from a clean slate. Friendship, partnership, and strategic relations cannot be one-sided; they require the same mutual approach. For someone to use my country for their own interests or sacrifice it, as happened in the case of Ukraine, with all due respect, we will not allow that. We have repeatedly made it clear that Georgia’s government is ready to start relations from a clean slate. The baseless, false statements from the previous administration, which were based on threats, slander, and insults, are categorically unacceptable. That is why we say that starting relations from a clean slate is important,” Kakha Kaladze stated.
