Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze stated that all the troubles occurring in the country, attempts to divide and polarize society, and the so-called “30 Akatsukas” (a reference to opposition or radical groups), are externally imposed.
According to Kaladze, groups within the country are funded and given instructions from abroad to encourage societal division.
“A Georgian, by their nature, worldview, culture, and traditions, would never act the way these stateless agents do. All of this is financed from abroad, and the public needs to know this. Previously, when we spoke about these issues, we faced mockery and ridicule. However, U.S. President Donald Trump laid it all bare, presenting the facts openly and stating that international organizations were directly involved in facilitating certain processes in various countries, including Georgia. These funds were allegedly funneled through the NGO sector, used for political processes and to nurture these so-called ‘Akatsukas,’ which is very unfortunate and a great tragedy for our country. These are our citizens, and the outcome we’ve received from them is deeply troubling. Hundreds of millions have been spent to create a network of agents in the country.
As for the announced protests, in the latest episode, we might see the EU and German ambassadors at a protest against the Georgian government. They are the ones leading this network of agents. The radical groups in Georgia have their patrons in the form of these ambassadors. The corresponding funds and instructions come from abroad, and these specific ambassadors are directly involved in promoting hatred, malice, and societal division,” Kaladze stated.
