**Country Refuses to Cooperate with European Assembly**
The Georgian Dream delegation has stopped participating in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. Kaha Gogolashvili, a director at the European Studies Center and researcher at the Rondeli Foundation, spoke about this decision.
**What Happens When a Country Refuses to Cooperate?**
Gogolashvili said that if a country refuses to cooperate with the Assembly, members may first demand that the country loses its voting rights. He explained that participating in the Parliamentary Assembly is important because it’s where debates and serious work take place.
**Why Is Participation Important?**
The Parliamentary Assembly monitors human rights and democracy across Europe. It evaluates how countries implement conventions and discusses any violations. Gogolashvili said that if a country doesn’t follow these rules, the Assembly may demand that the country leaves the Council of Europe.
