New Elections Needed in Georgia
US Congressman Joe Wilson says the elections held recently in Georgia should be nullified. He believes that a dictatorship has been established in the country by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
In an interview with France 24, Wilson stated that he wants to work together with Democrats on new elections in Georgia. This is because, according to him, Republicans and Democrats usually cooperate when it comes to foreign policy.
Wilson said that most of the time, members of both parties in Congress work together on issues related to international relations. However, he acknowledged that this may not always be the case when domestic US policies are concerned.
The Congressman expressed his concern about Putin’s actions in Georgia. He called Putin a war criminal and stated that the recent elections held in the country were illegitimate.
Interestingly, Wilson noted that there have been positive developments against Putin in other countries. For instance, he was rejected by voters in Moldova and Romania.
