**US Senators Express Concern Over Georgia’s Democracy**
Two US senators have expressed disappointment and concern over the state of democracy in Georgia.
Republican Senator James Risch said he hopes that Georgians will take control and work towards making their country a better democracy, one that is oriented towards the West.
“We are disappointed with Georgia recently,” Risch stated. “We hope that the people living in Georgia will take control and do what we believe they want to do.”
Democratic Senator Tim Kaine shared similar concerns, saying that the erosion of democratic norms in Georgia worries him deeply. He expressed concern about the regression of democracy in the country.
“We are very concerned about the erosion of all democratic norms in Georgia,” Kaine said. “This deeply worries us.”
