It doesn’t really matter who will be nominated as candidates from the so-called systemic opposition – they are still in a process of self-damage, said Irakli Pavlenishvili, a member of the United National Movement, in a statement to journalists.
He referred to the local self-government elections as a Russian special operation and noted that “there are no longer any real electoral processes in the country.”
According to Pavlenishvili, the election commission is dominated by “Georgian Dream order,” and the majority of the population no longer has trust in elections.
“As for that so-called systemic opposition, which intends to participate in this special operation – it makes no real difference who they nominate as candidates. Everyone in Georgia and abroad understands this. Everyone sees that their participation is purely nominal. They are still in a process of self-damage, because for the majority of the population, participation in this special operation is unacceptable,” Pavlenishvili stated.
In addition, responding to a question about the possible suspension of visa liberalization, he said that technically, “Ivanishvili’s gang did everything to obstruct our European integration.”
“They do not want the process of European integration to continue. They want to detach us from the West, and therefore they deliberately adopted bills that contradict visa-free travel and the benefits we enjoy from it. Kobakhidze and his team know this very well. They are lawyers, and of course they fully understood what they were doing,” Pavlenishvili said.
