“This rapid promotion was followed by a change in rhetoric for Salome Zurabishvili,” Kobakhidze stated. “Initially, she appeared to be an independent politician, but after her children’s appointments, she began to fully reveal her true self.” By 2021, Zurabishvili had completely transformed her stance on various issues, allegedly following directives from the Deep State.

Kobakhidze claimed that during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Zurabishvili remained relatively inactive and maintained an image of independence. However, as tensions escalated with neighboring countries, particularly during the so-called Michel negotiations and subsequent agreement, Zurabishvili’s stance became increasingly aligned with the Deep State.
“In 2022, she directly engaged in war rhetoric,” Kobakhidze alleged. “She supported sending volunteer fighters and imposing sanctions, becoming an open supporter of all this.” This drastic shift in her views was allegedly orchestrated by the Deep State, also known as the ‘global war party.’

When asked why the ruling party “Georgian Dream” supported Zurabishvili’s candidacy during the elections, Kobakhidze explained that it was already too late to change their support when her image began to falter due to her statements.
“It became clear about a month before the elections that she was facing serious problems,” Kobakhidze stated. “At that point, it was difficult to change the candidacy or support someone else in her place.” The Prime Minister claimed that if they had openly withdrawn their support for Zurabishvili, her rival candidate Vashadze would have become president, which was not acceptable.
