Irakli Kobakhidze participates in EPC panel discussion “Economic Security – Reducing European Dependencies”

 Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, within the framework of the 7th Summit of the European Political Community (EPC), participated in a panel discussion on the topic – “Economic Security – Reducing European Dependencies”.
According to the government administration, in his speech at the roundtable discussion, the Head of Government spoke about Georgia’s transit potential and the country’s special role in the Middle Corridor.
In addition, as reported, Irakli Kobakhidze emphasized Georgia’s strategic location, international cooperation in the field of mineral resources, and noted that the country has the potential to contribute to the existence of stable and diversified supply chains of critical minerals not only for the European Union, but also globally.
“Georgia’s goal is to further develop the Middle Corridor by improving its efficiency, thereby strengthening the role of the corridor as a reliable and competitive East-West transport route. Georgia’s strategic location allows us to fulfill the function of a vital transit gateway in the Middle Corridor. Through its port, railway and highway systems, our country facilitates the rapid movement of cargo and increases the competitiveness of the corridor, which strengthens Georgia’s role in global supply chains,” said Irakli Kobakhidze.
In addition, according to the press service, the Head of Government spoke about “major infrastructure projects underway in the country, including the construction of the Anaklia deep-sea port and the modernization of the railway, which serve to improve the country’s logistics capabilities.”
“The roundtable panel discussion, co-chaired by the Prime Ministers of Iceland and Ireland, was attended by the Prime Minister of Georgia, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Sovereign Prince Albert II of Monaco, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Montenegrin President Jakov Milatović, Swiss President, Slovenian Prime Minister, Cypriot President, Greenland Prime Minister and other leaders,” reads the press release.
