According to Kobakhidze, Khoshtaria’s actions can be considered a form of political self-harm.

“In general, self-harm is a common practice in politics, as well as in prison, including hunger strikes and various forms. They chose one form of self-harm, which is self-arrest. No one intended to arrest her. The court granted her bail. No, she wanted to go to prison. This is also one of the forms of self-harm. It is a democracy and they can use this form as well,” Kobakhidze said.
