I think those people who did such things should pray. The state will be very strict towards anyone who raises a hand against a police officer, – Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated at the briefing in response to a question about journalists and police officers injured during the rally.
Kobakhidze compared the rally participants to members of the National Movement and said that they are acting under their leadership.
“Before arriving, I was watching the footage when a journalist from the Public Broadcasting Service was attacked, and there was also a journalist from Imedi. Of course, this also shows their real face, what kind of attitude they have towards the media. This is the usual face of the National Movement. Do you remember what kind of attitude this political force had when they were in power, and their young activists are acting in the same style? There was a young man who injured one of the journalists. Everyone will receive a very strict response.
As for the law enforcement officers, there are injured people, among them, one of the injured is in a rather serious condition, has a fracture, has a hematoma, and one thing I can say is that I think those people who did such a thing should pray. The state will be very strict towards any person who raises a hand against a police officer. This response will not be easy and simple for them,” Kobakhidze said.
