Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze responded in this way to the decision of members of the “Gakharia – For Georgia” party to engage in parliamentary activities.
As Kobakhidze noted, “these political parties were led to this state by the dictation of their patrons, which is unfortunate for the parties but very good for the country and Georgian democracy.”
“They are in absurdity—if they become members of Parliament, that means Parliament is legitimate! Otherwise, what kind of members are they becoming?!
Everything speaks to the difficult situation in European bureaucracy and the ‘deep state’—they make one decision today, another tomorrow. The main thing is that they cannot change the situation in any way to the benefit of the opposition,” Kobakhidze stated.
Regarding the question of whether the decision of “Gakharia – For Georgia” party conditions that “Georgian Dream” will not demand a ban on the party within the framework of the lawsuit filed in the Constitutional Court, Kobakhidze said he would not get ahead of events and cannot say anything before the lawsuit is published.
“Once the lawsuit is published, you will know exactly which parties are included in it,” Kobakhidze stated.
