Georgia’s unique geographical location is complemented and strengthened by our government’s proactive foreign policy, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said in his speech at the Fifth Silk Road Forum.
According to him, Georgia has free trade agreements with the European Union, China, the United Kingdom, and the United Arab Emirates.
“Georgia’s unique geographical location is complemented and strengthened by our government’s proactive foreign policy. We have free trade agreements with the European Union, as well as with China, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates and other countries in the region. We are implementing large-scale infrastructure projects – building new ports, modernizing railways, creating digital and energy highways, such as the Black Sea submarine cable project, which will connect the region’s renewable energy with the European market. All this creates a unique opportunity for business,” Kobakhidze said.
He said that the Tbilisi Financial Summit is being held for the first time within the framework of this year’s forum, which establishes Tbilisi as a center of financial and technological innovations in the region.
“Today, connectivity means much more than physical infrastructure. The Middle Corridor is no longer just a concept; it has become a reality, we contribute to its development every day. But in the 21st century, for sustainable development, it is necessary to master new dimensions of connectivity – these are energy corridors, digital highways and the free movement of capital. Therefore, it is natural that the panel discussions of today’s forum are dedicated to these issues: the future of global trade, the potential of the Middle Corridor, energy integration and digital transformation.
That is why I am pleased that the Tbilisi Financial Summit is being held for the first time within the framework of this year’s forum. This landmark innovation, implemented together with Singaporean partners, establishes our capital as a center of financial and technological innovations in the region,” the Prime Minister said.
