The lawsuit [on the ban on separate political entities] will probably be filed with the Constitutional Court in a week – where the opposition parties were when they were refusing to hold elections in the country, announcing a coup d’état, these are the facts by which the collective National Movement acted, in violation of and contrary to the interests of the country, the Constitution. The question of whether such politicians should be in political parties naturally arises, – Georgian Dream MP Irakli Kadagishvili told journalists.
According to the MP, the opposition parties themselves chose the policy of revolution and overthrow, therefore they should not talk about dictatorship.
“The lawsuit will probably be filed with the Constitutional Court within about a week. Then, the Constitutional Court will decide what judgement it will issue. As for the statements of the opposition parties regarding the dictatorship, they should take one thing into account – they themselves refused to participate in the democratic constitutional process in Georgia. They themselves chose the policy of revolution, overthrow, violation of the constitution, so they should not talk about dictatorship, they should talk about the fact that in a democratic state the law acts more strictly on parties that commit such actions than we do. This is their response to this statement. Where were they when they refused elections in the country, ignored the results of the elections, announced a coup in the country and made all kinds of accusations against the country without any justification? These are the facts by which the collective National Movement acted, in violation of and contrary to the interests of the country, the Constitution. Naturally, the question of their existence arises for such politicians or political parties, but this is not to be decided by any party, but by the Constitutional Court based on our lawsuit,” Irakli Kadagishvili said.
